Delete your Viewert account
You can delete your account and data yourself, in a minute, from the website or from the iOS and Android apps.
How to delete it
- Sign in to Viewert on the website or in the app.
- Open Settings → Security (in the apps: your profile picture → Settings → Delete account).
- Choose Delete my account, type your username, and confirm with your password (or your authenticator code). If you signed in with Apple or Google, typing your username is enough.
If you are already signed in, you can go straight to Settings → Security.
What happens
- It takes effect immediately and can’t be undone. You are signed out everywhere.
- Your profile, Vellums, posts, videos and files are removed and no longer appear on the site or in search.
- Backup copies are purged within 30 days.
- Messages you sent stay in other people’s conversations, shown as from a deleted user. Groups carry on without you; people you chatted with one-to-one can still read the conversation but can’t reply.
- Any paid subscription is cancelled. If you signed in with Apple, the link between your Apple ID and Viewert is removed.
- Your username and email can be used again — as a brand-new account.
- Some information may be kept where the law requires it.
If you own an organization, transfer it to someone else or delete it first — the delete screen will tell you which. You can download your data before you delete: see our privacy policy.
Can’t sign in?
Email info@viewert.com from the email address on the account, with the subject “Delete my Viewert account”. We’ll confirm it’s you and delete the account.
