Creating Vellums
Everything you need to know about creating, editing, and managing your Vellums — from blank page to published article.
What Is a Vellum?
A Vellum is a rich-text document — your primary content unit on Viewert. Think of it as a blog post, wiki page, or research note. Each Vellum has a title, body content, visibility setting (public or private), and optional tags.
Creating a New Vellum
Start a new Vellum from the header navigation, your Vellums page, or with the ⌘N shortcut. You'll land in the editor immediately.
Add a title
Type your title at the top. Keep it concise and descriptive (max 69 characters).
Write your content
Use the rich-text editor to write. Format with the toolbar or Markdown shortcuts.
Save
Press ⌘S or click the save button. Your Vellum is saved as a private draft by default.
Add tags
Tag your Vellum with up to 4 topics to help others discover it.

Editing Existing Vellums
Open any Vellum you own and click the edit button to return to the editor. All changes are saved when you hit ⌘S. The updated timestamp is automatically refreshed.
