Your First Vellum
Create your first piece of content on Viewert. This guide walks you through writing, formatting, and publishing a Vellum from scratch.
Creating a New Vellum
There are several ways to start a new Vellum:
Click "Vellums" in the header
Navigate to your Vellums page and click the "New Vellum" button.
Use the keyboard shortcut
Press ⌘N (Mac) or Ctrl+N (Windows) from anywhere in the app to jump straight into a new Vellum.
From the Explore page
Click "Create a Vellum" in the top action bar.
The Editor
Viewert's editor is a rich-text environment powered by TipTap. You can type naturally and use the floating toolbar to format text, add headings, insert images, create lists, and more. It also supports Markdown shortcuts — type "## " to create a heading, "- " for a bullet list, or "```" for a code block.
Setting a Title
Every Vellum has a title (up to 69 characters). A good title helps others discover your content in search and on the Explore page. You can always change it later.
