Public vs Private Vellums
Control who can see your content. Every Vellum can be public (visible to everyone) or private (visible only to you).

Visibility Options
Each Vellum has a simple visibility toggle:
Public
Visible to everyone. Appears on your profile, in search results, on the Explore page, and in sitemaps for SEO.
Private
Visible only to you when signed in. Hidden from your public profile, search, and Explore. Perfect for drafts and personal notes.
Changing Visibility
You can toggle visibility at any time from the Vellum editor or from your Vellums page. Switching a Vellum from private to public instantly makes it discoverable. Switching from public to private immediately hides it.
Privacy Guarantee
Private Vellums are enforced at the API level. Even if someone guesses the URL, they'll get a 404 — not your content. Only the owner (authenticated via their account) can view private Vellums.
